- Fluxing oil production (R9 recovery operation)
As a result of the production technology applied by Vértesi Környezetgazdálkodási Kft., fluxing oil has physical and chemical properties comparable to other oil products. With its much more favourable price–value ratio, it is a fully-fledged raw material for road construction and shingle production, among others. Our product has all the documentation required for domestic and international trade.
We produce fluxing oil using our R9-coded vacuum distillation technology. Thanks to this process, fluxing oil is produced at low temperatures, with minimal energy consumption, meaning that not only the raw material but also the production process conserves our natural resources. Our waste oil treatment facility is licensed to process 9,000 tonnes of waste oil annually.

- Waste recycling through biological treatment (R3 recovery operation)
One of the core activities of our waste management work is the recovery of waste materials generated during industrial and agricultural production and use, or from remediation processes.
Our R3-coded biological technology processes materials under controlled conditions, following the processes of natural soil formation, to produce a cover material product whose organic and inorganic components and structure closely resemble that of natural soil, in a much shorter time. Decades of experience show that the living environment establishes and thrives on cover material produced with this method, making it perfectly suitable for replacing one of our most valuable natural resources—soil.
We apply and recommend our cover material product as a soil substitute for the reclamation of landscape scars, areas damaged by mining and industrial activities, remediated sites, waste dumps, mining areas, and landfills.
Our biological treatment facility is licensed to recover 42,000 tonnes of primarily organic, contaminated waste annually.
- Recovery of non-hazardous (inert) waste (R5 recovery operation)
We recover biologically non-degradable, non-hazardous waste from construction, demolition, and remediation through R5-coded processing.
After the necessary testing, the incoming inert waste is sorted, classified, and crushed. Foreign materials and fractions unsuitable for further recovery are handed over to specialised partners.
The resulting product, which can be used as a raw material in construction manufacturing or for the reclamation of areas damaged by mining and industrial activities, is certified according to the relevant standards and requirements for its intended use.
Our inert waste treatment facility is licensed to recover 250,000 tonnes of primarily inert, non-hazardous waste annually.
- Laboratory testing
The foundation of our waste management professional activities is safety, the protection of the natural environment, and human health. Therefore, we only accept waste shipments after knowing their specific characteristics and composition. The composition of waste is determined through laboratory testing, based on which we define the treatment process in compliance with safety and legal requirements. Products generated from recovery are also tested before leaving our site, ensuring full compliance with the relevant permits.

2008
Vértesi Környezetgazdálkodási Kft. was established at the former machinery maintenance site of the Oroszlány coal mines, with its initial operations centered around R3 biological degradation for waste treatment.
2009
The technology is being expanded with a key addition: a production unit for flux oil made from waste engine oil. This flux oil can be used directly in bitumen production, enabling the transformation of waste into a high-quality end product. With this development, VKG has entered the international waste recovery market.
2018
The biological treatment area is being renewed, featuring nearly 5,000 m² of insulated reinforced concrete technology space, an integrated homogenizing concrete basin, and a closed process water collection system. The facility is designed not only to meet domestic regulations but also to comply with stringent EU standards.
2020
A VKG engedélyt szerez inert, nem veszélyes hulladék hasznosításra R5 kezelési technológiával, közel 1 ha-os kezelőterületen. A mintegy 250.000 tonna éves kapacitás, szinergiában a korábbi R3 technológiával jelentősen növeli a Holding hulladékgazdálkodási portfolióját.
