Biological Recovery

Our companies engaged in biological recovery (R3 and R12 biodegradation processes) produce reclamation cover material from industrial waste and by-products. This material serves as a soil substitute suitable for the rehabilitation of damaged landscapes, including areas impacted by industrial activity, remediated sites, spoil heaps, and landfills. With properties and composition similar to natural soil—and as proven by our decades of experience—it provides a viable environment for plant and microbial life to establish and thrive.

Recovery of Waste Acids, Alkalis, and Heavy Metal-Containing Waste

At our Tatabánya facility, we provide recovery solutions for acidic and alkaline solutions, rinsing and washing liquids, as well as solid, sludge-like, and liquid wastes containing heavy metals. During the recovery process, residual acids are neutralized and heavy metals responsible for contamination are extracted. The treated materials meet the "end-of-waste" criteria, meaning they lose their waste status and can be reused as products.

Types of waste treated:

  • Waste acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric, nitric, hydrofluoric, and phosphoric acids)

  • Waste alkalis (spent sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide)

  • Spent rinsing and washing liquids containing heavy metals, pickling liquors

  • Liquid and sludge-like waste from industrial wastewater treatment (e.g., electroplating wastewater and residues)

  • Spent baths from metal surface treatment (e.g., passivation, hot-dip galvanizing waste)

Products resulting from the recovery process:

  • Calcium sulfate dihydrate (gypsum), suitable for agricultural use after further processing

  • Calcium chloride (CaCl₂) solution, a widely used eco-friendly de-icing and dust control agent

  • Calcium nitrate (Ca(NO₃)₂) solution, used as a fertilizer and foliar nutrient, and as an odor-control additive in wastewater treatment

  • Heavy metal hydroxide sludges of varying concentrations and compositions, suitable for metallurgical applications and further material recovery

  • Zinc sulfate solution, zinc oxide (ZnO), and zinc sulfate monohydrate (ZnSO₄·H₂O), used as raw materials in the feed and chemical industries

Waste Oil Regeneration

We specialize in the pre-treatment of waste and used oils, from which we produce flux oil using vacuum distillation technology (R9 recovery process).

We also recover oil-contaminated materials and packaging waste.

The resulting flux oil is used as a raw material in bitumen production and is suitable for road construction applications.

Innovation and sustainability are at the core of our business.

We continuously develop our technologies and research programs to meet the strictest European environmental regulations and the unique needs of our clients. Our goal is not only to protect the environment but also to create a circular economy, where waste is given a second life and transformed into valuable resources. By working together with our partners and the community, we are building a cleaner and more livable future.
