The main activity of Tatai Környezetvédelmi Zrt. is the reclamation of the former Almásfüzítő Alumina Plant’s Red Mud Reservoir No. VII and the Kesztölc mining area,
during which it produces reclamation cover material from hazardous and non-hazardous waste through biological treatment, based on the Integrated Environmental Usage Permit No. KE/041/00253-5/2025 issued by the Environmental Protection Authority.
TKV may accept and treat/recover waste under the following codes at its Almásfüzítő and Kesztölc sites:
- R12: Transformation for the purpose of carrying out one of the R1–R11 operations
- R3: Recycling/reclamation of organic substances which are not used as solvents (including composting, other biological transformation processes, as well as gasification and pyrolysis, provided that the resulting components are used as chemical substances)
- R11: Use of waste obtained from any of the R1–R10 operations
- R5: Recycling/reclamation of other inorganic materials (including soil cleaning resulting in the benefit to agriculture and recycling of inorganic construction materials)
