Our waste management facility and Category “C” industrial hazardous waste landfill have been operating since 2002 on the outskirts of the village of Szuhogy, in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.

On the 16-hectare site, we dispose of industrial waste generated in Hungary using solutions that provide multiple layers of environmental protection. Based on the Environmental Authority’s permit No. PE/KTFO/06519-6/2024, our company engages in the trade of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste. We offer solutions for the management of the full range of industrial waste in cooperation with our contracted partners. Furthermore, under the Environmental Authority’s permit No. BO/32/03592-35/2023, we operate our Category “C” hazardous waste landfill. Here, as one of the key players in the Hungarian waste management market, our company focuses on the recovery and final disposal by landfilling of hazardous industrial waste that cannot be recovered or economically incinerated with currently available technologies. Incoming waste can only be placed in landfill cells after preliminary analytical testing (basic characterisation), visual inspection, radioactivity measurement, and repeated laboratory control, and only if accompanied by the required documentation.

At its Szuhogy site, Hungaropec Plc. can accept hazardous waste under the following treatment codes:

  • D5 – Landfilling with technical protection (e.g., placement in covered, insulated cells separated from the environment and from each other)
  • R5b – Recovery of inorganic materials in the form of backfilling (e.g., road construction, partition wall construction, stability enhancement in landfill cell IV)
  • Pre-treatment: E0306, E0301, E0411

By working together with our partners and the community, we are building a cleaner and more livable future.
