Gallavit Környezetvédelmi Kft. carries out the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste based on its valid integrated environmental usage and operating permit.
Our recovery technologies focus on specific waste streams from production waste. These technologies enable the recovery of acidic and alkaline solutions, rinsing and washing liquids, as well as solid materials, sludges, and liquids containing heavy metals. During the applied processes, the valuable material content of the waste is recovered, contributing to further utilization in the spirit of circularity and sustainability.
Waste that has undergone recovery processes meets the “end-of-waste” criteria, thereby losing its waste status and replacing other materials as products. The following products are generated through our technologies:
- Calcium sulfate dihydrate (gypsum), which after further processing is suitable for agricultural purposes
- Calcium chloride (CaCl2) solution, widely used as an environmentally friendly dust and de-icing agent
- Calcium nitrate (CaNO3) solution, used as a raw material for fertilizers and foliar feeds, and as an odor-reducing additive at wastewater treatment plants
- Heavy metal hydroxide sludges of various concentrations and compositions, suitable for metallurgical purposes and further material recovery
- Zinc sulfate solution, zinc oxide (ZnO) and zinc sulfate monohydrate (ZnSO4xH2O), used as feed and chemical industry raw materials
Our technologies operate according to an integrated quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management system certified by EMT Zrt., in compliance with the MSZ EN ISO 9001:2015, MSZ EN ISO 14001:2015, and MSZ ISO 45001:2018 standards.
Our permits

In addition to the above activities, the company operates an accredited sampling organization registered under accreditation number NAH-7-0029/2024 by the National Accreditation Authority. Its areas of expertise include the sampling of surface and groundwater, surface water sediments, soil and geological media, as well as wastewater, sewage sludge, and waste.
1983
The company begins its operations under the name Komárom County Soil Management Enterprise—the predecessor of Gallavit. Production starts with the acquisition of a patent for galvanic sludge processing technology.
1990
Talajerőgazdálkodási Vállalat is transformed into Gallavit Kft. Tatai Környezetvédelmi Zrt. becomes a partial owner of the company.
1992
Tatai Környezetvédelmi Zrt. becomes the sole owner of the company. Gallavit develops technology and a laboratory specifically for the recovery of galvanic industry waste. The company acquires the former Alukohó building.
2007
The recovery permit capacity has increased from 1,000 to 1,950 tons. Tata Környezetvédelmi Zrt. has become the sole owner of Vértesi Környezetgazdálkodási Kft. This year marks the beginning of the construction of a new hall building, along with the expansion of both technological infrastructure and laboratory services.
2008
The technology is further enhanced with a modern spray dryer, which significantly facilitates both market distribution and storage. Previously, the main product—zinc sulfate solution—was sold in liquid form at a lower price. Thanks to the drying unit, it can now be marketed in solid form, making the process much more economical and increasing the product’s market value.
2018
The technology has been expanded with an acid recovery unit, enabling the extraction of valuable toxic metals from contaminated acids. As a by-product, high-quality gypsum is produced. The system has been operating at full capacity since its launch and has become one of the core components of Gallavit Kft.’s operations.
